Moana and Body Image - Modern Mouse Radio #119

Ever since the Moana trailer came out we've seen a few articles about body image. The Disney Princess image has been changing for over a decade now, introducing our first ever black princess, creating stronger females, and showcasing women who don't need love, but we still hadn't really changed the thin wasted pretty princess image until now. Moana looks to not only neglect the love story tales of old, but it's looking to change how beauty is personified on screen...unfortunately she is also the first Polynesian princess and we are seeing backlash there.

Josh is joined by Shannon McCarter from Network 1901 (@McCarterShannon) who has been writing and making videos about Disney Princesses and the value of their films for while, and they go deep into the past, present, and future of the body types we see from these Princesses.
